Located 1000 meters above sea level in the High Atlas Mountains, this well known venue also boasts 3 swimming pools. It enjoys a beautiful setting within large gardens and an olive grove, just an hour’s drive south west of Marrakech.
The layout of the site is such that visitors may either choose to be sociable by frequenting the area around the circular bar in the gardens or by enjoying the peace of their own terrace or finding a quiet corner of the grounds. There are 3 swimming pools: one large (300 square metre) unheated pool and one unheated pool for children by the bar and one medium-sized pool which is located near the bedrooms.
There is Wi-fi internet access, wheelchair access to all facilities and a small heliport. There are 2 pétanque courses in the grounds and trekking, walking and horse-riding is also in the area. Baby sitting is available.
Accommodation:
There are 9 spacious well-equipped bungalows, (of which 6 are standard rooms and 3 are suites, scattered amongst the pretty gardens and olive groves. Each comprises a mimilalist and modern bedroom decorated with plain fabrics containing a sitting area and a large bathroom with shower and twin washbasins. Each bungalow also offers reversible air conditioning, a safe and a private terrace with shading. All may accommodate up to 2 extra beds and a cot.
Location:
L’Oliveraie is accessed by a short drive off the Amizmiz road out of Marhiga, a small village near Ouirgane, which lies on the road towards the spectacular Tiz n Test Pass and Taroudant beyond. Only an hour south of Marrakech, it is within easy reach of some of Morocco's most scenic valleys and gorges.
Gastronomy:
The hotel is renowned for good food (some of which is grown in the grounds) which is served at both lunch and dinner times; there is a choice of eating in the sun or the shade on the terraces near the pool or indoors in the restaurant which has most attractive views of the gardens.
Staff: Celine and Gaetan and their staff extend a warm welcome. The charming young owners moved here from Casablanca to bring up their child in this peaceful locality.
