Trekking in the High Atlas mountains
Trekking: no kit required - and what a fantastic holiday option for the adventurous!
A trekking holiday in Morocco sounds daunting, and is not for the weak or infirm - but what a great way to see the country! From deserts to valleys to snow-capped peaks - the best treks are not always easily accessible, but worth all the effort of getting there.
Trekking allows us test ourselves in some of the world's more varied terrain – the Atlas mountains, but with a range of routes for all abilities. The only restrictions are in our natural surroundings and in our desire to challenge ourselves.
Mt. Toubkal, the highest peak of North Africa, known locally as Jebel Toubkal, stands 4167m above sea level and commands superb views of the High Atlas Mountains.
Accommodation on trek is in a mix of Berber village houses, gîtes, mountain huts and fixed camps. Mules carry all food, equipment and personal gear.
Thanks to its location at the foothills of the High Atlas mountain rage, near the massive Amiziz, Lake Lalla Takerkoust and Toubkal peak, Couleurs Berberes is the perfect base for your hiking, climbing and trekking excursions.
We organize excursions per hour, as well as ½ day, 1 day soft treks as well as multiple day trekking. You got tracks of various difficulty levels to choose to discover the real Morocco and the Berbers, the local population.
It is possible to organize different tracks for you to discover every day, having Couleurs Berbers, our authentic camp at the foothills of the High Atlas mountains as a shelther for the night. There is also a possibility to stay in a mountain refuge in case of a multiple day trekking (e.g. Jbel Toubkal).
