The Desert’s Gates

DAY 1 : MARRAKECH
Arrival at the Menara airport. Warm welcome by your guide. Transfer to hotel. Dinner and night at the hotel.

 

 

DAY 2 : MARRAKECH / OUARZAZATE / TINEGHIR
After breakfast, Depart for Ouarzazate through the high Atlas, via the Tizin’Tichka pass (2260). The road passes through various typical villages of the high-Atlas with dominating pisé houses, visit of the Ksabah Aït Ben Haddou, the famous kasbah which was the subject of many international shootings and is now an international heritage of the Unesco.  Arrival to Ouarzazate. in the afternoon, continuation through the road of the kasbahs, first through the Dades Valley, then from oasis to oasis until Tineghir. Dinner and night at the hotel.

DAY 3 : TINEGHIR / ERFOUD
Breakfast. then incursion into the todra gorges until the tarred road, through an imrpessive height.
In the afternoon, visit of  Tinghir's palmgroves.
Depart for Erfoud, through magnificient panoramic view, on the way you will see little mounds of earth (soil) marking the road. They are ancient wells of irrigation
Then you will pass the Ziz valley surrounded by extensive palm groves. Arrival to Erfoud one of the largest oasis well-known for its dates.

DAY 4 : ERFOUD / TAZZARINE / ZAGORA
After Breakfast, depart for Rissani. Visit of the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Then continuation to Tazzarine. Stop for lunch. From tansikht, the road lounge the Draa valley, an uniterrupted oasis of 200 Km. You will perceive several ksour and fortified villages. Arrival to Zagora, a large villa known as "the desert’s gate", it is an ideal staging post for those intending to travel farther in the south. Dinner and night at the hotel.

DAY 5 : ZAGORA / DUNES OF TINFOU / OUARZAZATE
Breakfast, excursion to Tinfou, the first heralding dunes of the desert, then visit of Tamegroute, an old-aged religious center with its library possesing precious manuscripts of illuminated Koran and ancient works of history and medicine. In the afternoon, depart for Ouarzazate first through the Draa valley. After Agdz, the tiny administartive center situated at the foot of the rock face of Djebel Kissane. The road pass through the col of Tizin’Tinififft (1 160m). Arrival to Ouarzazate in the evening. Dinner and night at the hotel.

DAY 6 : OUARZAZATE / MARRAKECH
Breakfast, depart for Marrakech through The high Atlas. The road offers a magnificient panoramic view. Arrival for Lunch.
Free time in the afternoon
In the evening, depart for a farewell dinner in an ancent palace in themedina with belly dance and Moroccan flklore.
Night at hotel.

DAY 7 : MARRAKESH
After breakfast, visit of the capital of the south, which once gave its name to the country. The Koutoubia mosque, a strikingly beautiful example of the combination between apparent simplicity and superb craftsmanship of the Hispano-Moresque art. The Saâdien Tombs, an outstandingly beautiful feature of architecture of the 16th Century. The Bahia Palace, with its luxurious apartments, which open into an inner courtyard. The Menara Gardens planted with olive trees and disposing of a great system of irrigation. In the afternoon, continue your way with a panoramic tour of the ocher–red ramparts built in the 12th century. Then on to the famous Jamaâ El Fna Square, the traditional meeting place of astonishing characters, storytellers, acrobats, snake charmers a spectacle that defies belief. From there reaching the souks with its various quarters of craftsmanship in the central area of the Medina

DAY 8 : MARRAKESH
After breakfast, and according to flight hours, free time then transfer to the airport. Assistance for the registration formalities
